The free session, then one topic per lesson
Free 30-minute session
Your child works through a short set of exam questions on the topic they find hardest. Afterwards you get a plain summary, a suggested target grade and the topics to fix first. Nothing to pay unless you carry on.
Fix the method
A one-hour lesson: warm-up from last time, a worked example, then exam questions while I watch for the step that goes wrong. We reveal the mark scheme one mark at a time. Homework is 20 to 30 minutes on the same topic, marked before the next lesson.
Timed papers
Once the topics are secure, full papers under exam timing, marked the way an examiner marks them, with every lost mark gone through.
Simple hourly rates, paid per lesson
| Level | Per hour |
|---|---|
| Introductory session (30 minutes) | Free |
| GCSE & IGCSE, Years 9–10 | £25 |
| GCSE & IGCSE, Year 11 (exam year) | £30 |

| IB Diploma (SL & HL) | £40 |
How you'll see progress
A note after every lesson
A short WhatsApp message: what we covered, the homework, and one thing to watch for.
Marks you can see
Every practice paper comes back with the score and the marks lost by type.
Lessons are recorded
Every lesson runs on Zoom and is recorded for safeguarding. Ask and the recording is sent over by email or whichever way suits you.
Hamdhan Shameem
A final-year civil engineering student at the University of Warwick. I've tutored GCSE and A-level maths and sciences for two years, including Edexcel IGCSE students abroad preparing to study in the UK. I mark the way an examiner marks, because that is where students who understand a topic still lose grades.
- GCSE: nine grade 9s, including further maths
- IB: HL 7s in maths AA, physics and computer science
- DBS checked
- Exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, IGCSE and IB
Know another parent?
If a family you recommend starts lessons, you get £25 off for each of the first two families, and after three, 20% off every lesson from then on. It applies after the new family's first paid lesson. Just mention who sent them.
FAQ
Are you DBS checked?
Yes. I hold an enhanced DBS check. Any tutor who joins later has the same check and a right-to-work check before teaching, and teaches me a mock lesson first.
How do online lessons work?
On Zoom, camera on, with a shared whiteboard. Every lesson is recorded for safeguarding, and you can ask for the recording.
How do I pay?
Per lesson, by bank transfer before the lesson. The Zoom link is sent once payment is in. No blocks and no contract.
What if we need to cancel?
Let me know 24 hours ahead and the lesson is moved, not charged.
Which exam boards do you cover?
AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Edexcel International GCSE and IB. Practice questions are written for the board your child sits.
How quickly will you reply?
The same day, evenings included. WhatsApp is quickest.
